Open presentation by the composer Egid Joechl (Artistic Residency program 2024) and performance by Konstantina Thanasouli and Dimitris Baltas

Project: RANGE

The color palette of today’s composers is no longer limited to the classical range of musical instruments. All sounds can become music. In his music, Egid Joechl often works with sounds from the environment and nature and combines them with traditional instruments. During his residency in Akropoditi Dance and Performing Arts Centre in Syros, the composer tried to capture some of these sounds and use them in his new music piece.
The presentation will be held in English.

Les Willis* | Act 2

Starting from the musical piece “Fort-Schreiten” by Egid Joechl, the performance focuses on the theme of self-determination of the individual both in relation to other individuals but also in terms of contemporary social conditions. Are we really free to follow the paths we choose? Does the (co)existence of the individual within a broader collective allow for self-definition? Can we resist the flow of the masses in modern society, even in a utopian state where love appears to guide; how much freedom can be accommodated in the expanse of free existence?

The performance, borrowing elements from the world of fashion, a field that acts mainly with following trends and imposing standards, looks at the existence of a person through various master-and-slave relationships, obedience and disobedience, love and hate.

* Les Wilis, female creatures from the underworld, return every now and then for one night only, to restore balance against those who were restricted, wronged, oppressed.

Choreography/Performance: Konstantina Thanasouli, Dimitris Baltas
Music: Egid Joechl
Duration: 11.20΄

Safety is a concept that has been heard frequently in recent years, especially in therapeutic areas. To be safe, to be careful, to protect our space.
Does the use of this word, however, in some cases begin to reach the limits of fear and overprotection, bringing us to a position of defense?
What if we replaced security with trust?
Feeling trusting instead of feeling safe?
In this seminar we will explore these concepts on the basis of the Muladhara chakra, our foundation, in a combination of yoga practice and drama therapy.
The purpose is to engage with these concepts physically, emotionally and mentally, through a creative encounter with self and others.
No previous experience is needed, just an appetite for exploration.

May we meet!

Emiliana Tsoukala
Emiliana got in touch with yoga in 2009, alongside her dancing. The reason yoga eventually won her heart, and she chose to follow it, is the respect with which it treats the body, the connection of breath and movement, the simplicity and depth involved in it, as opposed to the Western way of approaching it. of exercise. Later he understood that yoga is a way of life proposition, a philosophy that has deeply studied human nature and offered answers to many human questions.
Her desire to explore the path of yoga in greater depth and specifically her love for the full flow of Vinyasa, led her to attend the 200 hour RYT training program of EYS with teacher Panos Katsandris. She then trained in pregnancy yoga and is currently completing her 500 hour training. She continues to be interested in continuing education on yoga and therefore attends various seminars on it.
At the same time, he was trained in Dramatherapy, a method of psychotherapy with art as a tool, and through the marriage of these, he has a dream to offer a holistic way of treatment, thus contributing to man’s search for self-awareness and self-healing.
