Led by sound artist Tom White, it explores how sound, body and environment intertwine; inviting participants to move beyond listening as a purely auditory act into an embodied experience of vibration and shared sensation.<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Drawing on <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Anthos<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, a dance-for-camera work by Surface Area Dance Theatre, and its attention to the subtle choreography between gesture and environment, the workshop approaches sound as a physical encounter. Through field-recording and sonic experimentation, participants gather sound through contact, movement, and touch; tracing vibrations across surfaces and through space, alongside recording natural elements in the locale such as underwater life using hydrophones.<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These recordings will then be experienced via portable speakers and haptic vests (Woojers), translating sound into felt vibration. He is interested in the physicality and phenomena of sound; how it can be felt by the body and experienced in architectural space. Past projects include commissions and appearances for Radiophrenia, Glasgow (CCA); BRAUBLFF (KRAAK &amp; De Player); Whitechapel Gallery, London &amp; Colour out of Space Festival, Brighton. Recent collaborators include Surface Area Dance Theatre, Maya Dunietz, Ben Knight, Renato Grieco and Lia Mazzari. He has performed extensively across the UK and Europe, traveled to North America &amp; Japan and had work published by labels such as Takuroku (Cafe OTO), Glistening Examples, Vitrine, Chocolate Monk, Calling Cards Publishing and South London Gallery. He won the British Composer Award in 2014 (Sonic Art) for Public Address, commissioned by South London Gallery.
