She will discuss the physical, psychological and social benefits of dance to the community of elder people. This study was made with the aim to inspire other dance professionals in Greece to start creating similar groups as Kinitiras Omega company in order for community dance work to develop in our country.<br \/>\nIt is a study that was made during the quarantine period and was informed by the work of seven other performance professionals from Greece and Europe who have experience in the same field. (Patricia Apergi, Stella Howard, Emily Jenkins, Panagiota Kallimani, Georgia Mavragani, N\u03bfnne Mai Svalholm, Lisa Thomas.)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>During the lecture there are going to be moments of sharing from the workshop \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/akropoditi.com\/dancefest\/en\/events\/constant-breaks-antigone-gyra-and-aliki-avdelopoulou\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Continuous Interruptions<\/a>\u201d instructed by Antigone Gyra and Aliki Avdelopoulou <\/em>in the 9<sup>th<\/sup> International Dance and Performing Arts Festival Akropoditi DanceFest 2022<em>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Have a small taste: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=HjTruL4R45o\">https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=HjTruL4R45o<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Duration:<\/strong> 60 min (the lecture will be in Greek)<\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Antigone Gyra<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Antigone Gyra\u00a0studied dance theatre at Laban Centre in London. She is the founder and artistic director of Kinitiras Network for Performing Arts (www.kinitiras.com). With Kinitiras she founded and directed the first residency centre for performing arts in Greece, from 2008 until 2019, Kinitiras Studio. Her works with Kinitiras have been commissioned many times from the Ministry of culture and other public and private organizations and have been performed in Greece and abroad. She is also designing and running community based, dance in education and elderly people programs.
