Butoh Workshop – Hélène Barrier
27 & 28 May 2017
Could we dance a landscape?
The Butoh dance is the dance which allows all the metamorphoses.
We will explore all the layers of the body (skin, flesh, bone) and how we are printed by the atmosphere and the landscape, to become finally ourself a part of this landscape. It will be natural and surrealist!
Saturday 27/05: 16:00 – 18:00
Sunday 28/05: 13:00 – 15:00
The workshop will be offered free of charge in the context of the Artistic Residency program at Akropoditi Dance Centre, with guest artists Hélène Barrier and Nicolas Bourgeois from France.

“Minotaure obsession”
Thursday 1st June at 22:30, Free entrance
This research about the Minotaure takes place in a 3 years project of the artist Hélène Barrier. The Minotaure is her alter ego figure, both male and animal. It represents what is exposed to the savage and the instinctive in her. With textile installation, costumes, masks, drawings, she continues this research of this Mythological icon.
As a dancer, she works with the band CRAVAN since 4 years, in a go between the music and the body rhythms. After working on the imaginary links to the Minotaure story and the labyrinth during a 1rst residency in France Last October, they work, for this specific time in Greece, as a duo, inspired by the roots of the myth in its modern country. This second step of work will be a cross into the sounds and the body that follow the flow inside.
